Introducing Lauren Akard

Dance Educator

Lauren has been dancing for 15 years and began her dance training at age 3 at Bruce Lea Dance Factory in Fort Worth. She started competing at age 9 in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip hop and contemporary winning numerous adjudication awards in local, regional and national competitions. At age 13, she began training at Dance Concept and has received their Directors Award and scholarships to Tremaine’s Summer Dance Intensive in Los Angeles. She has trained with many amazing choreographers including, Travis Wall, Mark Meismer, Nick Lanzisera, Keri LaGrand, Brian Friedman, Meghan Sanett, Tiffany Maher, Derrick Schrader, Melinda Cantu, Tony Bellissimo, Nika Kljun, Marty Dew, and Mikey Trashoras and many more. Lauren is passionate about her dance training and seeks every opportunity she can to continuing improving and growing on a dancer. 


This summer she will train at Sam Houston State University and is excited to experience dance at the collegiate level. Lauren is currently dancing at Arlington Heights High School (AHHS) under Director Rachel Wade. Lauren will be a senior in the fall and will begin serving as Captian of the AHHS Repertory Dance Company.
