Born and raised in Fort Worth, Rebecca Brooks began her dance career at the age of 3 at Dance Etc. with Reggie Milam. She enjoyed all styles, including ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, clogging, and musical theater. Rebecca participated in competitive dance with Caroon Moore Dance Productions, formally in Benbrook, and danced on her drill team at Nolan Catholic High School. She was picked to perform in Pepito’s Story for the inaugural year of Bass Hall under the direction of Debbie Allen. Her professional dance career began as a performer at Six Flags in Arlington for their stage and parade shows during her high school years.
She continued her love for dance at Texas Woman’s University where she received a BFA in Dance and BS in Kinesiology. Rebecca had the privilege to dance with and perform under the direction of multiple artists while at Texas Woman’s University; including Melissa Young, Mary Williford-Shade, Glenda Norcross, Amy Sleigh and Stephanie Milling. During college she participated in Boulder Jazz Dance Festival and performed 2 seasons as well as performed with the TWU International Dance Company for 3 seasons in Ballet Flocklorico styles. Rebecca has been teaching dance for over 15 years to all ages in both the panhandle and North Texas areas.
She has a Masters in Occupational Therapy from Texas Tech Health Sciences Center and has been working as a Neonatal ICU Occupational Therapist for the past 10 years. Rebecca is beyond excited to return to her first love of dance and educating the next generation of artists at Studio of MoveMINT. She lives in Fort Worth with her husband Charlie and daughter Amelia.
