Carrie Wilkey graduated in 2017 from Texas Christian University with a BFA in Modern Dance and BS in Educational Studies. Prior to attending TCU, Carrie grew up in Singapore until age 18 and began her dance training at Cheng Ballet Academy and Singapore American School. Carrie has trained with the Orlando Ballet School, Anaheim Ballet, and the American Dance Festival. While at university, Carrie trained with New York dance companies Paul Taylor American Modern Dance and Keigwin + Company over the summers. Carrie has performed in many dance disciplines including classical ballet, modern, contemporary, tap, jazz, hip-hop, and various forms of world dance. She has been choreographing dances for the stage since high school and her work has been performed at TCU as well as festivals in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines.
After graduation, Carrie was a principal artist with Dallas based dance company Zion Dance Project in the summer of 2018. Carrie’s teaching experiences span over 12 years at various studios and schools in many disciplines. She has completed her Texas Teaching Certification for dance grades 4-12 and was the assistant director for the Arlington Heights High School Dance Department from 2018-2019. Carrie has been on faculty at Studio of MoveMINT since it opened in 2017 and has had the joy of teaching all ages of dancers. Starting in 2020, Carrie has also been a director for MoveMINT Dance Company and her choreography for SOM's company dancers has been highly awarded at conventions and competitions. Carrie lives in Fort Worth with her husband, Austin, and two daughters, Chandler Rose and Ember Scout.
