A Fort Worth native, Courtney grew up in ballet, tap, jazz, gymnastics, and cheerleading. In middle school, she decided to focus on ballet and cheerleading and continued them both for the next several years. As a student at Fort Worth Country Day, she danced pre-professionally with Gayle Corkery School of Ballet and performed in the school musical each year. She was also captain of the Varsity cheerleading squad and competed nationally and globally with Spirit of Texas All-Star Cheerleading.
She continued cheerleading in college at The University of Oklahoma, both for all major sports and their competition squad. Upon graduation, she auditioned for "Bring It On: The Musical" and was cast as an original member of both the touring company and the Broadway company. After "Bring It On" closed on Broadway, she served as the Acrobatics Coordinator for "Matilda: The Musical" and truly enjoyed teaching young actors how to tumble! She also coached cheerleading on four different continents for Universal Cheerleaders Association.
For her next chapter, Courtney cheered professionally back in Texas as an Ice Girl for the Dallas Stars in the NHL. She served as a captain her second year and then took one year off to get married. Knowing that she still had a few years of performing left in her, she auditioned for and made the squad for the New England Patriots. Her rookie year, the team made it all the way to the Super Bowl, and cheering on the sidelines at the biggest game of the NFL season was an exhilarating experience!
After a second year as captain of the Patriots Cheerleaders, Courtney moved back to Fort Worth to attend graduate school at TCU. She graduated in 2021 with her Masters in Teaching and is currently a cheerleading coach and teacher at Fort Worth Country Day. Courtney is a certified acro teacher through Acrobatic Arts. When she’s not teaching, she loves spending time in nature with her husband Dave and baby Jack!
