Originally from San Antonio, Catherine began her dance training with Scott Conway and Buddy and Susan Trevino at the San Antonio School for the Performing Arts. She is a summa cum laude graduate of Texas Christian University, where she earned a BFA in Ballet with a minor in Education. While at TCU, Catherine had the opportunity to perform in a number of works, notably the Pas de Six from August Bouronville's Napoli and Mauve Girl in Gerald Arpino’s Birthday Variations. Upon graduation, she joined Ballet San Antonio, performing in ballets by Gabriel Zertuche and Ben Stevenson, O.B.E.
A career shift toward nonprofit arts administration led Catherine back to DFW in 2015. She worked with Texas Ballet Theater as Educational Programs Manager, coordinating and growing TBT's national audition tour, summer intensive, community engagement, and adaptive dance programming for five years. She also taught in these programs and choreographed for the I.M. Terrell Academy Dance Ensemble.
Catherine is an ABT®️ Certified Teacher, who has successfully completed the ABT Teacher Training Intensive in Pre-Primary through Level 3 of the American Ballet Theatre®️ National Training Curriculum. Additionally, she has completed Boston Ballet’s nationally recognized Adaptive Dance Teacher Training.
Catherine joined the Studio of MoveMINT faculty in 2017 and enjoys teaching ballet to elementary through high school aged students. She also directs our Adaptive Dance Program and annual production of The Nutcracker. Outside of the studio, you can find her spending time with her husband, Jake, and their son, Carter.
